Peer Reviewers Process
Peer review is a system used to assess the quality of manuscripts before publication. Independent researchers in relevant fields evaluate submitted manuscripts for originality, validity and significance to help editors determine whether the manuscript should be published in their journal.
When a manuscript is submitted to a journal, it is assessed to see if it meets the criteria for submission. Then, the editorial team will select potential reviewers in the field of research to review the manuscript and make recommendations. At NIC, we provide a double-blind process where reviewers do not know the names of the authors, and authors do not know who is reviewing their manuscripts. All papers will be critically read by at least two anonymous reviewers, selected for their competence in the subject area of the paper. Acceptance of the paper will depend on scientific criteria and its suitability for Nursing Inside Community. Reviewer/Peer Reviewer Guidelines
For reviews, please follow these steps before you begin:
- First, visit our main focus and scope of the journal before you decide to review a manuscript.
- Cross-check articles that can proceed to the review process.
- Do not hesitate to reject articles if they do not meet the criteria for scientific review and publication.
- The manuscript review period is set at a maximum of four weeks.
Steps for submitting a review report:
- Accept to review.
- Download the manuscript.
- Submit your review report:
- Comments within the paper (MS Word Review tool).
- This is required to write your specific comments and recommendations.
- The reviewer evaluation form can be downloaded here.
- Evaluate each section of the manuscript.
- Provide recommendations: minor/major/rejected.
- You can write your comments on the web (review section comments).
- Upload the review report.
